Hit or Hits in web analysis


In web analysis, a "hit" refers to the transmission of a single measurement point. For example, in Google Analytics a hit can be:

  • a single Pageview
  • a single Event
  • a Purchase ...

The tracking of user behavior on a single web page can therefore include several hits, e.g. if several events are sent to Analytics after a page view.

Some web analysis systems (like Google Analytics) have different hit limits, see Google Analytics Hit Limits. For example, the monthly hit limit of the free Google Analytics version is 10,000,000 hits.
